Activated Carbon Filter Tank System

The activated carbon filter tank system is a device used for water treatment, air purification and industrial fluid filtration. It mainly uses the adsorption characteristics of activated carbon to remove pollutants. The following is a basic introduction to the system:

1. Main functions
- Remove organic pollutants: such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pesticides, residual chlorine, phenols, etc.
- Decolorization and deodorization: widely used in food, beverage, medicine and other industries to remove odor and color.
- Improve water quality: used in water treatment process to reduce COD (chemical oxygen demand) and TOC (total organic carbon).
- Gas purification: can be used in air purification system to remove harmful gases and odors.

2. Main components
- Filter tank: usually made of stainless steel or fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), which can withstand a certain pressure.
- Activated carbon filler: granular activated carbon (GAC) or powdered activated carbon (PAC) can be selected, and the appropriate carbon type is selected according to the application requirements.
- Water distribution system: ensure uniform distribution of water flow and improve the adsorption efficiency of activated carbon.
- Backwash system: clean activated carbon regularly to prevent clogging and extend service life.

3. Application areas
- Water treatment: drinking water, industrial wastewater, reverse osmosis (RO) pretreatment, etc.
- Air purification: industrial waste gas treatment, indoor air purification, etc.
- Food and beverage: purification of sugar solution, wine, and plant extracts.
- Chemical and pharmaceutical: removal of impurities, catalyst recovery, etc.

4. Operation and maintenance
- Regular backwashing: remove impurities and maintain filtration efficiency.
- Replace activated carbon: replace expired activated carbon regularly according to usage.
- Monitor water quality or gas quality: ensure that the filtration effect meets the requirements.
